How do I paint art on corrugated iron?

I have some old corrugated iron sheets which I want to jazz up. I have a few designs and some acryllic paint. I was just going to paint it on, but now I'm thinking it might not be that simple. Does any one have any hints or tips about painting on corrugated iron as I have never worked with it before. Thanks for your answers :)
